Dr. Rosy Jan is senior assistant professor in the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Kashmir, India. She did her Bachelors and Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Kashmir and qualified for the U.G.C. National Eligibility Test (NET/JRF) in 2006. She also holds a doctorate in library and information science. Her teaching experience spans more than 17 years and is associated with many professional international and national repute bodies. She is a lifetime member of many national and international associations, including the Association of Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T), Maryland, U.S.A., and the Indian Association of Teachers of Library and Information Science (IATLIS), Punjab, India.
Dr. Jan is an editorial team member of peer-reviewed and indexed journals, including "Journal of Advancements in Library Sciences" ,"International Journal of Knowledge Management and Practices" and Caspian Journal of Scientometrics published by Babol University of Medical Science, Iran. Besides, she is associated with being a reviewer for reputed journals in the field.
Her research interests include AI in academic writing, retractions, research metrics, and predatory publishing. She has published in many national and international journals and has attended and presented papers at many national and international seminars, including ICDL 2010, ICLAM-2014, ETTLIS 2015, COLLNET 2015, and ICAL 2022.
She bagged first place in the Best Poster Award category of ICDL 2010 for her poster presentation, "Harvesting Capabilities of Google Scholar: A Comparative Study of Three Major Journal Lists—DOAJ, Highwire, and Biomedcentral." Besides receiving the Best Paper Award for the research article "Post-retracted citations of highly cited COVID-19 articles: an investigation" in the 6th ICAL at A.M.U.
Dr. Jan's experience as nodal officer and academic counselor further highlights her commitment to the academic and administrative endeavors.
